Based on solid research in the U.S., the U.K. and Italy, the 'Signs for Success' manual is a practical hands-on guide for teachers and classroom assistants to use with children from the age of three.

It contains simple straightforward Signed classroom ACTIVITIES, INFORMATION (relevant facts and figures), and DEAF AWARENESS material.

There is also an application for upper primary school pupils in specific areas of the curriculum (e.g., Listening and Speaking), and comprehensive school pupils (e.g., learning BSL as a "foreign" language).

The manual was launched in summer 2000 as part of an event attended by Clare Short, Secretary of State for Overseas Development.
